Executive Vice President Rodney Mosier represented Texas Wheat at the U.S. Wheat Associates 2017 World Staff Conference in Estes Park, CO, May 22-25.

Several national and state organizations were represented, as well as American Seed Trade Association, Monsanto, Wells Fargo and USDA. Chandler Goule, CEO of National Association of Wheat Growers, was present to discuss legislative priorities and market development for the wheat industry.

The theme of the conference was “A Foundation for Future Success.” Topics covered included foreign market updates, legislative priorities, food safety, the future of wheat breeding and industry advancements.

Current issues were also brought up, including the suggested cuts to the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development Program (FMD), along with the proposals for the 2018 Farm Bill and the FY 2017/2018 budget.
