Weekly Harvest Report

posted in: Crop Reports | 0

Harvest has continued moving across the state and producers in the Southern Panhandle, near Lubbock, will begin cutting soon.  Yields in the area are expected to be low due to continued drought and late-spring freeze damage.

Meanwhile, producers near Waco have completed harvest with yields in the low-to-mid thirties.

Harvest in the northern region of the Blacklands, north of Dallas, is approximately 50 percent complete, with varied yields and low test weights.  Although harvest was making headway in the region, severe storms will slow progress this week.

Producers across the Rolling Plains region, near Wichita Falls, are wrapping up harvest with test weights between 58-59, but yields are very disappointing, with some fields yielding only 8-10 bushels per acre.

Producers in the Northern Panhandle, north of Amarillo, are expected to begin harvest in 7-10 days.
