Experts to Discuss Farm Policy and Markets at Texas Wheat Symposium

The Texas Wheat Symposium, hosted by the Texas Wheat Producers Association (TWPA), will take place on Wednesday, December 4, at the Amarillo Civic Center’s Grand Plaza Room. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run in conjunction with the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show.

The symposium will cover key issues facing wheat producers and farmers as the year draws to a close, with a focus on agricultural policy and market trends. The morning’s sessions will include updates from experts in the field, followed by a special luncheon to recognize the impact of the agricultural industry in the region.

“With the end of the year fast approaching, there’s still a great deal of uncertainty, especially around farm policy,” said TWPA President Jody Bellah. “We’re confident that the speakers lined up to address both political and market conditions will provide valuable insights.”

The symposium will conclude with the Amarillo Ag Appreciation Luncheon, beginning at noon, where popular farm advocate and social media personality Michelle Miller, known as the “Farm Babe,” will deliver the keynote address. Miller, also the founder of Farm Cruise, is widely recognized for her efforts to address misconceptions about modern agriculture and the safety of our food system.

“As farmers, we often encounter misconceptions about how we produce food and the safety of our products,” said Bellah. “Michelle Miller has been a strong voice in confronting these issues, and we are thrilled to have her join us for this year’s luncheon.”

The entire event is made possible at no cost to attendees, thanks to the generous support of event sponsors.
