NASS is currently estimating that Texas wheat growers will harvest 112.2 million bushels this year, up 83 percent from 2009, and 13 percent more than the 2008 crop.
While this data is still an early estimate, it is welcome news to growers across the state who battled problems throughout the 2008/09 growing season. The following chart shows production levels from the past ten years as well as the current production estimate.
As reported earlier this week, the current crop conditions are rated 60 percent good or excellent, 31 percent fair and 9 percent poor or very poor. How does your crop look?
