The House Agriculture Committee launched a farm bill landing page on Wednesday, December 13. The landing page will serve as a resource for information and updates as farm bill discussions continue.
At https://agriculture.house.gov/farmbill/, you can find background information about the creation of the farm bill, facts about agriculture in the United States, a schedule of farm bill hearings, and an outline of the process behind drafting a farm bill. There is also a collection of educational materials, like this video:
House Ag Committee Chairman Mike Conaway made the following statement after announcing the website’s launch:
“I’m committed to completing a farm bill on time. We’ve spent the past three years preparing—holding 113 hearings and six listening sessions around the country. We recognize what’s at stake. We’re working on getting the policy right and will use this site as a resource as we advance the next farm bill.”
Congress will be gone for the holiday recess starting December 18 and will return on January 3.
