Harvest crews in the western Panhandle have largely avoided recent storms. Though farmers on the eastern side of the Panhandle may get a break from the rain this evening, they have received anywhere from 0.01 – 2 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.

An elevator in the Amarillo area reports average dryland yields of 50 bu/a and irrigated yields around 60 bu/a. Test weights in this area have stayed fairly consistent, but have dropped a few pounds per bushel as a result of last week’s rain.
