During the recent Texas Wheat Producers Board & Association meeting, Rodney Mosier, executive vice president emeritus, and Paula Jacobs, administrative assistant, were honored at a reception celebrating their upcoming retirement on March 31, 2025.
Mosier began his career at Texas Wheat on February 23, 1984, as the Executive Assistant to then-Executive Vice President Bill Nelson. Upon Nelson’s retirement, Mosier was promoted to Executive Vice President on April 1, 1998, a role he held with distinction for over two decades.
“It has been an honor to serve Texas wheat producers for the last 41 years,” said Mosier. “I am immensely grateful for the relationships built, friendships gained and opportunities I have been able to experience in the wheat industry.”
Throughout his career, Mosier championed numerous initiatives within the wheat and agricultural industries. He organized statewide elections and referendums, negotiated the first royalty agreement with Texas A&M University to collect on certified wheat sales and oversaw the construction of Texas Wheat’s current building in 2004. Mosier represented Texas Wheat globally through trade missions and advocated for a stronger future for Texas wheat producers.
A graduate of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership Class IV, Mosier also serves on the TALL Advisory Board. In 2012, he was recognized as a Graduate of Distinction by the West Texas A&M University Department of Agricultural Sciences. His dedication and service have greatly contributed to the wheat industry in Texas and globally.
Jacobs began her career at Texas Wheat on April 1, 1997, and has been a central part of the organization’s operations throughout her 28 years of service. Visitors to the Texas Wheat office could always count on Jacob’s friendly demeanor and helpful nature, and she has consistently gone above and beyond for Texas wheat growers and the industry.
During the event, Mosier was recognized by the Texas Agriculture Council and WTAMU, and both Mosier and Jacobs received certificates of appreciation from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
