Last week USDA-NASS released new estimates pegging the 2010 Texas wheat production at 124.3 million bushels. This estimate is a one percent increase from the June estimate.
Statewide yield is expected to average 35 bushels per acre, up 10 bushels from last year, and up 5 bushels from two years ago. Harvested acreage for grain is up 50,000 acres from June at 3.55 million acres and up 45 percent from 2009.
