The Amarillo Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a Farm Bill Decision Aid Training seminar for insurance agents Friday, Oct. 10 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 6500 W. Amarillo Blvd., in Amarillo.
“AgriLife Extension’s goal is to establish a network of trained individuals who can help producers if they need assistance working through the farm program decision aid tool,” said Dr. Steve Amosson, AgriLife Extension economist and co-trainer in Amarillo.
“A number of insurance agents has stepped up and requested this training so they can assist their clients with program signup,” Amosson said, “and we are certainly going to honor their request.”
Participants can choose between attending the free training from 8:30-11:30 a.m. or 1:30-4:30 p.m. The training will focus on the data entry process required to correctly run the farm bill decision tool developed by the Agricultural and Food Policy Center at Texas A&M University in partnership with the University of Missouri.
The RSVP deadline for either session is Oct 8. Attendance is limited, so early registration is encouraged. For additional questions contact DeDe Jones at 806-677-5667.
