BROWNFIELD – The South Plains Ag Conference, hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Terry and Yoakum counties, will be Jan. 17 at the Texas Red Wine Event Center, 2127 U.S. Highway 380, Brownfield.
The conference is open to producers from these and surrounding counties, according to Geoff Cooper, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Terry County.
“This will be an opportunity for them to get the latest information on cotton management from experts within AgriLife Extension and pick up some CEUs,” Cooper said.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the program from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $10 at the door. Lunch will be provided.

Five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units – one integrated pest management, two laws and regulations, and two general – will be offered.

– Insect Pest Management Update, Tommy Doederlein, integrated pest management agent for Dawson and Lynn counties.
– Pesticide Laws and Legal Considerations Related to Drift, Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, agricultural law specialist, Amarillo.
– Weed Management Considerations, Dr. Peter Dotray, weed specialist, Lubbock.
– Auxin Certification, Cooper
