The 2014 Ag Technology Conference is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11 at the Sam Rayburn Student Center, Texas A&M University-Commerce, W. Neal St., in Commerce. The program is hosted by Cereal Crops Research Incorporated, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Texas A&M University-Commerce and the Agribusiness Industry.
The 2014 program will be of special interest to corn, sorghum and wheat producers. Program speakers include:
-Dr. Ronnie Schnell, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, discussing management of insects and weeds in GMO Corn
-Dr. Scott Armstrong discussing pest management strategies to control sugarcane aphid in forage and grain sorghum
-Dr. Vanessa Corriher-Olson discussing weed identification and effective weed control in forages with proper timing and herbicide selection
An industry panel will also discuss a two-step herbicide program for resistant ryegrass management in wheat. Panelist include:
-Dr. Adam Hixson, BASF Corporation
-Dr. Pete Eure, Syngenta Crop Protection
-Mr. Lester Scott, FMC Corporation
The afternoon session will also include a presentation on controlling feral hogs. The registration fee prior to Nov. 28 is $40.00. Registration after Nov. 28 will be $50.00. The registration form can be found Ag Technology Conference Flyer.
Private applicators, commercial applicators, non-commercial applicators and certified crop advisors will all receive 5 continuing education units (CEU’s).
