Heavy Hessian fly pressure impacted several wheat fields across the Blacklands this season, but seven Soft Red Winter and six Hard Red Winter variety trials still delivered valuable performance data.

Texas Wheat annually invests in the Uniform Variety Trial program to provide unbiased comparisons of wheat varieties and small grain silage across all major growing regions, support county extension outreach efforts, and better understand the key characteristics that influence varietal performance.
