Farm Bill Decision Aid Training — Lamesa

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service county agents will be conducting a farm bill decisionaid meeting Oct. 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the Lamb County Ag Center in Lamesa.

Dr. Jackie Smith, AgriLife Extension economist at Lubbock, said the meeting is free to the public and are collaborative efforts among AgriLife Extension, the U.S. Department of AgricultureFarm Service Agency, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and various commodity groups.

Smith will present a demonstration of the online decision aid tool, developed by the Agricultural Food and Policy Center at Texas A&m University, and offer examples for demonstration purposes. Shawn Wade with Plains Cotton Growers, will present a special session on the decisions that cotton producers will be needing to make to fully utilize the components of the 2014 farm bill.
