The annual Swisher County Ag Day will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16th at the Swisher Memorial Building, 127 SW 2nd St. #103, in Tulia.
Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.
A lunch sponsored by Happy State Bank will be served, along with updates from the Texas Sorghum Producers, Texas Corn Producers, Texas Wheat Producers, Plains Cotton Growers and Farm Service Agency.
This event is the largest one-day educational program in Swisher County, providing agricultural information for producers and others employed in agribusiness across the Panhandle, said John Villalba, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent in Swisher County.

– Fertigation and Drip Irrigation Practices, Trey Hillger, Eco-Drip Inc., Abernathy.
– Weed I.D. and Chemical Modes of Action, Dr. Peter Dotray, AgriLife Extension weed specialist, Lubbock.
– Water Saving Conservation Approaches, Texas Alliance for Water Conservation project director, Lockney.
– Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Laws and Regulations Update, Casey Summers, TDA, Dimmitt.
– Texas Water Law and Current Hot Topics, Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, AgriLife Extension ag law specialist, Amarillo.
– 2014 Residual Herbicide Trial Summary, Blayne Reed, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management agent for Hale/Swisher counties, and Villalba.
– UAVs and Emerging Technologies in Agriculture, John Mark Gibson, CropQuest Inc. precision ag specialist, Dodge City, Kansas.
The cost of the program will be $10 and six continuing education units from the Texas Department of Agriculture and six certified crop advisor units will be offered.
