The Texas Wheat Producers Board and Association is seeking a Program Director to administer the Texas Wheat membership program, foster relations with farmers and industry members, and support initiatives in policy, research, and market development. The ideal candidate will have fresh ideas, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work as a team to serve wheat farmers.

Core Responsibilities:
- Producer Relations:
- Attend farm shows, field days, and farmer events to engage with stakeholders, gather insights, and promote program initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed.
- Membership Program Development:
- Refine and manage a membership program to enhance member engagement and retention.
- Communicate regularly with members to provide valuable information and updates, fostering grassroots efforts and encouraging participation.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Program Management and Delivery:
- Partner with Texas Wheat staff to advance initiatives related to policy, research, education, and market development.
- Support program success by advocating for policy initiatives, overseeing research processes and facilitating industry events.
- Specific program responsibilities may be tailored to prior experience.
- Communications Efforts:
- Contribute to overall communication efforts by providing material and support for written and verbal communication pieces.
- Board of Directors Support:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to provide regular updates on current programs and activities to keep board members informed and engaged.
- Assist staff in coordinating support for board members during events, meetings, and by supplying relevant program information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an agriculture-related field
- Work experience and knowledge of production agriculture a plus
- Proficiency in common software programs including Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel and work outside of regularly scheduled business hours.

Physical and Travel Demands:
This role requires employees to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift and move equipment. Additionally, the position involves travel both within the state and out of state to attend industry meetings and represent the organization, ensuring active participation in key events.
Work Environment:
Employee will work at the Texas Wheat office located at 5405 W Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79106 with a small, dedicated staff committed to serving farmers and getting things done. Being part of a small team, you will be asked to perform all necessary tasks whether large or small to contribute to the success of the operation.
