Harvest Updates 2026

Harvest-ready fields across Texas received additional rainfall over the weekend, bringing harvest activity to a standstill in many areas. Rainfall totals averaged around 1.5 inches across portions of the Panhandle, while some locations in the Northern Blacklands recorded more than 2 inches. Though many crews are currently waiting for fields to dry, the forecast calls for warmer temperatures and sunny skies through much of the week.

Perryton Equity Exchange reports it is on track to receive a potential record low number of wheat bushels in 2026. Despite the low bushel count, test weights remain better than expected averaging 57 – 58 pounds per bushel. Dryland yields are generally averaging in the low teens, though some of the better-performing fields have reported yields in the low to mid-20 bushel per acre range.
