Harvest Updates 2026

Harvest crews in the Panhandle, High Plains and North Texas continue to make progress as field conditions improve. Around Perryton, producers are wrapping up harvest, with a limited number of dryland acres harvested, mainly for seed wheat. Irrigated acres in this area have also produced lower yields than in recent years.

Yield reports vary across the Panhandle. Some irrigated fields near Groom are averaging around 40 bushels per acre, while a farmer near White Deer reports dryland yields averaging about 22 bushels per acre so far.

Although harvest advanced at a good pace through the weekend, scattered shower chances remain in the forecast this week and could bring temporary delays to harvest activity in some areas.
