Harvest Updates 2026

Earlier this week, USDA-NASS reported that 77% of Texas wheat acres have been harvested, putting this year’s crop nine percentage points ahead of the five-year average for this time of year.

That progress is reflected in reports from across the state, with harvest wrapping up in the Rolling Plains and West Central Texas and many producers in the Panhandle and North Texas beginning to cut their final acres.

Recent rainfall, however, has slowed progress in some areas. Parts of the Eastern Panhandle and the Amarillo area received significant rainfall over the past 72 hours, bringing harvest activity to a halt for many crews. Additional rain chances in the forecast could further delay the completion of harvest for producers still working to finish cutting.
