Drought remained the biggest challenge for wheat across the Rolling Plains this season, with viral diseases adding pressure in some areas. While most locations struggled, the Brady trial was the only site to record a significant yield increase of 72 percent. The 2026 yields in Brady were the highest since the 2010 season.
Texas Wheat annually invests in the Uniform Variety Trial program to provide unbiased comparisons of wheat varieties and small grain silage across all major growing regions, support county extension outreach efforts, and better understand the key characteristics that influence varietal performance.
