AMARILLO, TX – Texas Corn Producers (TCP) and Texas Wheat are inviting farmers and industry partners from across the state to its Farmers & Friends Reception on Tuesday, Dec. 1, during the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show.

The reception runs from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Amarillo Downtown, across from the Amarillo Civic Center, immediately following the Texas Corn Producers Association’s annual meeting. The evening offers light food and beverages and great conversation with no formal program. It’s a time to catch up with fellow farmers, extension professionals and industry partners.

“Farm show week is one of the few times many farmers are gathered in the same place, and we wanted to give them an evening that’s about people – not a podium,” TCP Executive Director Bryce White said. “There’s no better way to talk about what’s working on the farm than face to face with your neighbors.”

The event offers refreshments for attendees coming off a full first day of the farm show. The first round of beverages is on the associations, and members of either association may enjoy an open bar for the entire reception. Attendees can also join on the spot with special membership exclusives:

  • New members can join both associations with a 1-year membership for $100
  • TCPA is offering a three-year membership for $60
  • New and renewing TCPA members will also receive a Carhartt beanie

Members are also eligible for a door prize drawing for a Milwaukee grease gun or a Solo Stove fire pit.

“Wheat and corn growers are often one and the same, making this partnership a natural fit,” Texas Wheat Executive Director Steelee Fischbacher said. “Bringing our members and industry partners together is a great opportunity to strengthen relationships and remind ourselves that we’re all working toward the same goals.”

Walk-ups are welcome, but those who RSVP at FarmersFriends26.rsvpify.com will have a name tag waiting at check-in.

The Texas Wheat Producers Association is a voluntary membership organization of wheat producers in Texas. The association provides growers a concentrated, organized voice in political matters affecting the production and marketing of their crops. For more information, visit texaswheat.org.

Texas Corn Producers (TCP) serves the state’s corn farmers through two organizations: Texas Corn Producers Board (TCPB) and Texas Corn Producers Association (TCPA). TCPB is a statewide board funded by a voluntary checkoff program. The program focuses on research, education, and promotion to further the corn industry in Texas, and to create better marketing opportunities for farmers. TCPA is where advocacy meets action. TCPA is funded by farmer members. Working at the local, state and federal levels, TCPA members come together to ensure the important work of farmers is seen from the fields of Texas to the halls of Congress.
